Victorian Volleyball Beach Schools Cup 2010

The dates for the 2010 VBVSC are:

·         Wednesday 10th March – Years 7 & 8 (just fours)

·         Thursday 11th March – Years 9 & 10 (pairs and fours)

·         Friday 12th March – Years 11 & 12 (pairs and fours)

The Tournament will again be held at Mordialloc Beach, Beach Road, Mordialloc (at Peter Scullin Reserve, adjacent to Windows on the Bay restaurant).

Please note that entries close strictly on Monday 1st March, 2010 and any late entries which are accepted incur a higher team entry rate.

Victorian Volleyball Beach Schools Cup 2009

The 2009 VBVSC took place at Mordialloc Beach from Wednesday March 11th to Friday March 13th. The year 7’s and 8’s and 11’s and 12’s had the best of the weather, perfect days for Beach Volleyball.    We had over 180 teams compete in the Schools Cup.

2009 Champion School:
Congratulations to Billanook College, 2009 Champion School who were well ahead as the most successful school over the three days. In second place was Eltham High, and third place Luther College.

A big thank you must go to all VVI staff, Court managers - for their efficient managing of courts, Tony in the first aid tent, and the support of all teachers and schools ensuring that the event is successful.

Victorian Volleyball Beach Schools Cup 2008
March 12th to 14th – Mordialloc Beach

The 2008 VBVSC took place at Mordialloc Beach from Wednesday March 12 to Friday March 14. The year 7’s and 8’s had the best of the weather, the perfect day for Beach Volleyball. Waverly Christian College and Billanook College each finished with two Gold Medals. Temperatures soared on day 2, resulting in reduced scoring formats and an earlier finishing time. Billanook dominated proceedings with 5 Gold’s while Mazenod College, Haileybury College and Wonthaggi S.C. chipped in with one Gold each. On Day 3 (Year 11’s and 12’s) the temperature was again at melting point and both the heat and strong winds posed an enormous test for all players. Again getting off the courts before the sun was at its worst, and spending more time in the water than out of it meant that everyone left the beach healthy. Luther College, Haileybury College and Wesley College each took home 2 Gold’s with Waverley Christian College and Ballarat High School the other two.

A big thanks must go to all staff for their help, Tony in the first aid tent, and the support of teachers and schools ensuring that the event is successful.

See you all again in 2009.

2008 Champion School

Billanook College and Luther College were well ahead as the most successful schools over the three days, helped along by the absence of Girton Grammar and Eltham High School. Haileybury College moved up to take third on the list while in forth and fifth respectively were Wesley College and Waverley Christian College, each showing that they will be competitive in the years to come.
